Kristina Bahl completed her B.A. at St Lawrence in 2024 with a BUSLA and economics double major and a minor in communications. Kristina was the 2023 Richardson scholarship (economics department) recipient and one of the 2024 Tanner Fellowship recipients. Kristina played D1 hockey at St Lawrence and this summer, with the help of the Tanner Fellowship, Kristina completed a 3-week project in the Philippines in which she and five other girls brought the game of hockey to several underprivileged communities.

Zach Jaworski

Zach Jaworski '24 is a Government major with minors in German Studies and Performance and Communication Arts. Zach interned with North Country Public Radio, where he produced democracy-related audio features, voter and election trends data reports and the impacts of local government policies. Zach is graduating in December 2024, and in his final semester he is looking to use the skills he learned at NCPR in his capacity as Editor-in-Chief of The Hill News, St. Lawrence's student newspaper. He will also continue to cover democracy for NCPR through the 2024 general elections.

Jacqueline Heitmann

I am a recent Class of 2024 graduate with a BS in Statistics and a minor in Computer Science. My academic interests are heavily focused in pursuing statistical applications in the fields of environmental conservation and/or anthropology. Currently, I am one of two Melvin Ember interns at Yale's Human Relations Area Files (HRAF), spending most of my day-to-day life conducting cross-cultural research and performing analysis and data collection/entry for the eHRAF database. 

Kassandra (Kasey) Wood

My name is Kasey Wood and I am a senior at St. Lawrence University. I come from a small town in midcoast Maine and started my journey at St. Lawrence during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have always been drawn to mathematics as a subject since I was little, but was not introduced to a statistics or computer science class until I started at SLU. As soon as I took the intro courses for those departments I knew I would be a data science major, the perfect combination of math, statistics, and computer science. And I am a sociology minor. Anna Wilkerson

Anna Wilkerson '24 is a Sociology major, Sports Studies & Exercise Science minor. On campus, she is a student trainer and a volunteer for the L.I.G.H.T. House - a theme house. In summer 2023, Anna conducted research about education inequalities in the medical field in collaboration with a research team in Copenhagen and Stockholm. 

Thomas Van Tassel

At St. Lawerence, I have become a Geology major. As a Geology major, I have found enjoyment in Paleontology. I would like to pursue Paleontology for a master's degree. Furthermore, I really enjoy being outside and showing people what I have learned about rocks and fossils.

Taonga Soko

I am a Zambian student who after completing my general education requirements and getting my high school diploma spent two years in South Wales, further completing the International Baccalaureate at Atlantic College (UWC) and becoming a Davis Scholar. At St. Lawrence, I am currently a senior studying Computer Science interested in AI, Web programming and Backend Software development.

Hello! I am Ellie Shaw, a dynamic individual from the class of 2024. I am pursuing a double major in Psychology and Hispanic Studies, along with a minor in Public Health. I have a fervor for art and its potential to drive change. With this, I have embraced the role of an activist in advocating for sociopolitical causes. I aspire to become an art lawyer, leveraging my expertise to protect and promote artists' rights and creative expression. Beyond my academic pursuits, I find solace and joy in the great outdoors, often spending my free time hiking, climbing, or riding my bike!

Eva Grover

Eva Grover ’24, from Hailey, Idaho, is pursuing a major in Government and minors in Economics and African Studies. Spring ’23 she participated in SLU’s Kenya Semester Program and completed an internship with the human rights organization HAKI Africa. Here on campus she is involved in a variety of honors societies and leadership positions such as ODK, PSA, and serves on the executive board for the Beta Beta Chapter of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Interested in multi-party politics, political corruption, and global democracy trends, she spent her summer under the advisory of Dr.

Sarah Weaver

Sarah Weaver (she/her/hers), born and raised in Norwood, New York, is a member of the Class of 2024 at St. Lawrence University with a major in Data Science. Her current student fellowship research is a part of the NSF Grant SCORE which utilizes sports statistics to create educational modules for public use. Outside of her academic interests, Sarah is the Public Relations chair for the Association of Campus Entertainment (ACE), works as the treasurer of the Arts Annexand is the treasurer of the St. Lawrence University Performing Arts Collective. 

Erika Looman

I am a senior at St. Lawrence studying Geology with an interest in environmental conservation. My experiences throughout my summer AmeriCorps term opened my eyes to the world of working with non-profits, as well as the importance of conserving our precious watersheds in perpetuity for the enjoyment of generations to come. 

James Lubkowitz

My name is James (Jax) Lubkowitz and I am in the class of 2024 at St. Lawrence University. At St. Lawrence I study Computer Science and Biology and strive to apply computational aspects and skills to the sciences. I am interested in the field of genetics with a focus on assembly and analysis components. I grew up in Richmond, Vermont and went to Mount Mansfield Union Highschool.  Outside of the classroom, I am the captain of the Nordic ski team and enjoys any and all outdoor activity.

Allee Mack

Allee Mack '24 is from Marietta, New York where she graduated from Onondaga Central High School in 2020. She is majoring in Government and minoring in History, and she is interested in pursuing a career in politics. During her time at SLU, Allee served as the Student Delegate to the Board of Trustees, the Secretary for SLU Advocates, and a student ambassador for the Andrew Goodman Foundation. Additionally, Allee received the Harry Reiff Junior Government Major Scholarship Award and the Meg Flaherty Student Leadership Award.

Maya Mackey

Maya Mackey '24 is double-majoring in Digital Media and Film, and Performance and Communication Arts. Maya interned at North Country Public Radio, where she produced audio news stories on several different topics, including profiles on local businesses, the return of agricultural education to North Country schools, Indigenous tradition and culture, and mental health awareness and resources for farmers in New York. Her continued work at The Hill News, in both writing and editing capacities, helped her produce articles, as well as social media and digital content for NCPR.

John Mahoney

I am a student at St. Lawrence University pursuing a bachelor's degree in economics and a minor in government. I have experience interning at a financial servicing firm as well as a legal and consulting firm. I am passionate about politics, law, the outdoors, sports, and the Buffalo Bills. I am open to any conversations as I look to expand my professional network and gain insight from experienced profesionals.
