I completed my summer internship with Majority Leader Charles Schumer's Syracuse office. This allowed me to gain new knowledge of the workings of the U.S. Senate and the daily responsibilities of the office. This experience gave me the opportunity to gain real-world work experience in the government and law field. During my time working for the Majority Leader's office, I performed various daily tasks such as research for the office, receiving voicemails from the Senator's constituents and logging them accordingly into the databases, and reading and highlighting media coverage of local and national news sources. All of these duties and learning under the leadership of my team gave me new insight into this line of work, develop skills, and was valuable for my career in the future.
