My name is Kasey Wood and I am a senior at St. Lawrence University. I come from a small town in midcoast Maine and started my journey at St. Lawrence during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have always been drawn to mathematics as a subject since I was little, but was not introduced to a statistics or computer science class until I started at SLU. As soon as I took the intro courses for those departments I knew I would be a data science major, the perfect combination of math, statistics, and computer science. And I am a sociology minor. During my time here at St. Lawrence I have been on the rugby team and have held various leadership positions on the team. My plans for my future after St. Lawrence are still uncertain, but I plan on staying in the northeast to work (most likely Maine).
