I am the president of the Pi Mu Epsilon chapter at SLU (National Mathematics Honors Society)and a member of the Psi Chi chapter at SLU (International Psychology Honors Society).

Jason Stasio

As an undergraduate mathematics major, I’m passionate about creative problem-solving and devising applications to improve the modern world. Namely, I am interested in mathematical applications to the sciences, which motivated me to pursue a summer research experience in organic chemistry under the mentorship of Dr. Tartakoff. Using my skill set, I designed promising syntheses and ran appropriate analyses to draw valuable insights.

Tye Royal

Projects

Making an Enigma Machine
Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics
4 letter enigma machine prototype
Series: Summer 2023 - Research Fellowships

Tye Royal 25' is a Mathematics major interested in cryptography as well as education and how it allows our daily lives to function seamlessly. His summer research involved fabricating an enigma machine. During the summer a four-letter prototype design was built and tested. Moving forward he plans to construct a fully functioning twenty-six-letter design with a plugboard implementation. He works as a mentor at the Peterson Quantitative Resource Center and is also a part of the SLU Saints NCAA DIII Cross Country and Indoor/Outdoor Track Teams.

Eliza Brown

Eliza Brown '25 is a mathematics major with an interest in illustrative mathematics. She is President of SLU Democrats, President of Planned Parenthood Generation Action, Vice President of Advocates, Founder of Little Blue Libraries (a textbook redistribution program), member of Pi Mu Epsilon, member of SLU Women in Math and CS, Finance and Development Director of College Democrats of New York, and has served on multiple Title IX working groups. Most recently, Eliza engaged in her second research fellowship in the field of experimental mathematics.

Tanner Bessette

I am currently a Junior at St. Lawrence University and a member of the SLU class of 2025. I am a double major in Statistics and Mathematics and I also have taken some computer science courses here at SLU. On campus I am a captain for the SLU Men's Club Soccer team, and this summer I completed a summer fellowship through the Statistics department.

Victoria Cubina Lopez

I am an international student from Barcelona, Spain. I am 21 years old and I am completing the 3+2 engineering combined program with St. Lawrence University and Dartmouth University. I am studying Mathematics and Biomedical Engineering. I have been a ski racer since I was 7 years old and I have been racing Division I for St. Lawrence University since I began college. I enjoy the outdoors and playing sports, but also reading and drawing. I have two younger twin sisters that keep me very entertained whenever I see them during the summer or for Christmas break.

Mirko Dibra

I am Mirko Dibra, my hometown is Shkoder, Albania, but I have been studying abroad in the past couple of years in Japan and now the US. I have always had this deep passion for Mathematics and number in General so from a young age I have been engaged in numerous Mathematical Olympiads like EMC, Albanian National Math Olympiad, BMO. This passion for numbers has been reflected also in my work goals where I want to work Quantitative Analysis, or even as an Actuary. Hence, I am planning to major in Mathematics and Computer Science.

Tenzin Yarphel

My name is Tenzin Yarphel and I am a Tibetan from the Tibetan refugee community in India. Originally from Dharamsala, I left home at the age of 12 to pursue my education at Tibetan Children's Village boarding school in Selakui,Dehradun, India.
