Kassandra (Kasey) Wood

My name is Kasey Wood and I am a senior at St. Lawrence University. I come from a small town in midcoast Maine and started my journey at St. Lawrence during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have always been drawn to mathematics as a subject since I was little, but was not introduced to a statistics or computer science class until I started at SLU. As soon as I took the intro courses for those departments I knew I would be a data science major, the perfect combination of math, statistics, and computer science. And I am a sociology minor. Anna Wilkerson

Anna Wilkerson '24 is a Sociology major, Sports Studies & Exercise Science minor. On campus, she is a student trainer and a volunteer for the L.I.G.H.T. House - a theme house. In summer 2023, Anna conducted research about education inequalities in the medical field in collaboration with a research team in Copenhagen and Stockholm. 

Taonga Soko

I am a Zambian student who after completing my general education requirements and getting my high school diploma spent two years in South Wales, further completing the International Baccalaureate at Atlantic College (UWC) and becoming a Davis Scholar. At St. Lawrence, I am currently a senior studying Computer Science interested in AI, Web programming and Backend Software development.

Elena (Ellie) Shaw

Hello! I am Ellie Shaw, a dynamic individual from the class of 2024. I am pursuing a double major in Psychology and Hispanic Studies, along with a minor in Public Health. I have a fervor for art and its potential to drive change. With this, I have embraced the role of an activist in advocating for sociopolitical causes. I aspire to become an art lawyer, leveraging my expertise to protect and promote artists' rights and creative expression. Beyond my academic pursuits, I find solace and joy in the great outdoors, often spending my free time hiking, climbing, or riding my bike!

Eva Grover

Eva Grover ’24, from Hailey, Idaho, is pursuing a major in Government and minors in Economics and African Studies. Spring ’23 she participated in SLU’s Kenya Semester Program and completed an internship with the human rights organization HAKI Africa. Here on campus she is involved in a variety of honors societies and leadership positions such as ODK, PSA, and serves on the executive board for the Beta Beta Chapter of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Interested in multi-party politics, political corruption, and global democracy trends, she spent her summer under the advisory of Dr.

Eliza Brown

Eliza Brown '24 is a mathematics major with developing interests in computer science and statistics. She is president of SLU Democrats, financial advisor of College Democrats of New York, and serves on the Sexual Misconduct Prevention & Response Strategic Planning Group at St. Lawrence. Most recently, Eliza engaged in a research fellowship in the field of experimental mathematics. 

Sarah Weaver

Sarah Weaver (she/her/hers), born and raised in Norwood, New York, is a member of the Class of 2024 at St. Lawrence University with a major in Data Science. Her current student fellowship research is a part of the NSF Grant SCORE which utilizes sports statistics to create educational modules for public use. Outside of her academic interests, Sarah is the Public Relations chair for the Association of Campus Entertainment (ACE), works as the treasurer of the Arts Annexand is the treasurer of the St. Lawrence University Performing Arts Collective. 

Fousani Hamidou

My name is Fousani Hamidou. I am currently a senior at St. Lawrence University studying abroad in Kenya, majoring in Global Studies and minoring in African Studies. Furthermore, on campus I am the former president of Men In Color and the former Vice President of the Black Laurentian Initiative. I was also the former Vice President of Senate Affairs of Thelmo.

Keely Snode

I am a senior at St. Lawrence University with a double major in Biology and Anthropology. I hope to go to physical therapy school after taking a gap year upon my graduation in the spring of 2024. I am a captain of the women's soccer team, love to read, bake, hike, and hang out with my friends and family. I love being around people and can't wait to help others to heal in my future profession. 

Vladimir Iglesias

My name is Vladimir Iglesias, and I am currently a senior majoring in Economics and Government at St. Lawrence University. Originally from El Salvador, I was born and raised there, with my educational journey beginning at Highlands International School San Salvador. In 2020, I proudly graduated from Highlands, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another at St. Lawrence University.

Leah Squadrito

My name is Leah Squadrito, I am a Global Studies Public health double major class of 2024. I am from Syracuse New York were I completed my work with PEACE inc. as well as remote research with Haneefa Saleem for Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. In the future I hope to pursue a career in the Public Health field focusing on global public health. 

Ayesha Khatun

My name is Ayesha Khatun, and I am rising senior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology. Within campus I am a Community Assistant and a staff of the Launder Science Library. I also a McNair Scholar, an active member of ICC, and a recipient of the Gilman Scholarship. The past couple of semesters I have had the privilege of doing animal research with rats regarding delayed discounting and social-anxiety like behavior.

Indie Talbot

Indie Talbot (She/Her) is a senior graduating in the Spring of 2024. She is a geology major and is minoring in mathematics. After graduating, Indie plans on pursuing a master's in geology focused on volcanology or igneous petrology. She is passionate about volcanic processes and assessing the risks and hazards that are a result. During her time at St. Lawrence, she was SLU Fellow researching magmas under oceanic islands and also completed an internship in the Canary Islands focusing on volcanology and science communication. 

Abigail Lateer

Abigail Lateer '24 is an English-Environmental Studies major interested in the power of food sovereignty to help disadvantaged communities, what it means to live sustainably, and the hybrid forms of literary journalism and creative nonfiction. She is looking to further the skills she developed in this internship by becoming certified in permaculture design!

Zoie Lehman

My name is Zoie Lehman, I am 21 years old, and am a current senior at St. Lawrence University. I was raised by a single mother in Lewis County, New York. It has been my mom and I my entire life, and our story has not always been for the faint hearted. My biological father walked out before I was a year old, and for my mom, raising a child on her own was not easy.
