Digital Media & Film

I'm a rising senior at St. Lawrence studying digital media and film and political science. I have a passion for sports videography and marketing. As the lead videographer for the universities men's hockey team I create video content that engage fans and showcase the program through social media. Through my media production career I have experience in video production, photography, branding and social media strategies. This past summer I interned with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball league, the premier collegiate summer league.

Lane McCarthy '27 was resides in Melrose, Massachusetts. Currently enrolled at St. Lawrence University, Lane is studying Digital Media with a minor in Studio Art. A longtime interest in visual storytelling and design has shaped both academic and creative pursuits.

Imani Kingwood is a rising senior majoring in Digital Media and Film with minors in Communications and Asian Studies. Along with researching algorithmic bias, she is passionate about visual storytelling, marketing, and learning about different cultures.

Lilia Estrada is a rising senior, double majoring in Creative Writing and Digital Media and Film. Her stories often feature women and cover issues they face, whether that be in a futuristic cyberpunk metropolis, or in modern day New York City. Her passions in advocating for women are reflected in her works, as she hopes her stories can shed light during the current administration’s mission in keeping women in the dark. Her favorite author and feminist is Audre Lorde.

Aidan Begel is a rising senior in the Class of 2027. As a digital media and film major (and as someone who enjoys film), this project's ties to animation and cinema were deeply intriguing for them. The structure of this project as semi-independent has been a valuable experience that will stay with them following its completion. This writing and research has made them feel confident about future endeavors as well as encouraging a pursuit of additional writing/research projects. 

Emily Siansky '26 is a Digital Media and Film major and Communications minor, and is from Olney, Maryland. The main focus of her studies lies in advocacy for women in sports. As a member of the Saint's Softball Team, her perspective as a student athlete guides a lot of her career and academic goals. She has experience in social media content creation and graphic design. As she enters her senior year, she hopes to finish her academic career at SLU strong, graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors. In the future, Emily hopes to work in Sports Information or Athletic Communications.

My name is Jonah Klingler, and I’m a junior at St. Lawrence University, double-majoring in Digital Media and Business. I’ve always been passionate about the outdoors, and over time, I found a true calling in videography, photography, and storytelling. For me, there’s nothing more rewarding than capturing someone’s experience in a way that allows them to relive it, and hold onto it as part of their memory.

My name is Hally Finney! I am a senior at SLU who loves three things more than anything. People, Animals, and Nature. I have always dreamed about working to promote animal welfare. After declaring my Digital Media and Film major, I started to envision combining media skills to create content to spread awareness towards animals. 

I am a senior student of St. Lawrence University, majoring in English and Digital Media & Film. My academic focus is journalism. I am the 2025-26 Editor-in-Chief of The Hill News, SLU's student-run news publication. I am also employed as the English/Religious Studies Department student worker, in which I design and advertise promotional materials for department events and news. In summer 2025, I worked as a News Intern with North Country Public Radio, where I covered stories on local fishing, the Army ROTC, and pickleball.

Connor Shea is a Digital Media and Film student whose work blends critical analysis, creative production, and community engagement. For a summer fellowship, he analyzed 30 films—from Full Metal Jacket (1987) to The Creator (2023)—mapping shifts in war cinema from embodied soldiering to algorithmic targeting. Using critical mapping, contextual analysis, and film theory, his research explored how digital technologies reshape the visibility, intimacy, and abstraction of violence, comparing Hollywood and international perspectives.

I am a first generation Ecuadoian American who loves to learn about the colonial history of my country and more. I also am an avid movie/tv watcher and some of my favorite films delve into the effects of colonialsm or other Hispanic issues such as "Embrace Of The Serpant" and  "Ya No Estoy Aqui". I hope to gain more and more knowledge about film making in hopes to one day be able to portray my peoples stories and experinces through a medium I love so much. 

Born and raised in New Canaan, Connecticut. Attended New Canaan public schools until sophomore year of high school, where I then transferred to King School in Stamford, Connecticut. Currently enrolled at St. Lawrence University, studying business, digital film/media with a minor in sports studies. I also am a member of the men's varsity basketball team at SLU. My passion for basketball and sports not only has had a heavy influence on my life, but also desired career path. It has lead me to work as a basketball trainer for camps, group and private training for players of all ages.

Mahmoud is a double-major student in Business in the Liberal Arts, and Digital Media and Film at St. Lawrence University. He had the opportunity to intern at AMCO international for summer 2024 at the marketing and sales department. In addition, he was part of SLU Fellows program for summer 2025 with his creative project of writing a feature-length screenplay under the title of "A Mediterranean Tale."

I am an international student from northern Thailand, currently studying at St. Lawrence University, where I am pursuing a double major in Digital Media & Film and Psychology. My passion for film began when I took a Film International Baccalaureate course in high school, where I realized the power of cinema as a medium for creativity and storytelling. I aspire to be part of truthful storytelling and to promote independent cinema. Furthermore, I enjoy film analysis to deepen my understanding of the industry and its social contexts.

Maya Mackey '24 is double-majoring in Digital Media and Film, and Performance and Communication Arts. Maya interned at North Country Public Radio, where she produced audio news stories on several different topics, including profiles on local businesses, the return of agricultural education to North Country schools, Indigenous tradition and culture, and mental health awareness and resources for farmers in New York. Her continued work at The Hill News, in both writing and editing capacities, helped her produce articles, as well as social media and digital content for NCPR.
