During my internship at Menlo79, I worked at the intersection of data science and sales, focusing on automating and optimizing the firm’s lead generation process. I implemented workflows in Clay that reduced raw data search and enrichment time by 60%, and built a recurring system that automatically generated new leads each week and integrated them into HubSpot.
I was fortunate enough to participate in an archaeological excavation on the Green Fort in Sligo, Republic of Ireland, this summer. The site is a 17th century bastioned artillery fort. It was used periodically and underwent several periods of demolition and burning. When use ceased, was still visited up until the modern day. Over a thousand artifacts were found in the excavation, including stone tools, lead musket shot, and marker caps.
This past summer I had the privilege of working as a Research Intern in Dr. Elias’s Laboratory at Brown University’s department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. I contributed to both experimental and scholarly research on glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive primary brain tumors. My internship bridged laboratory investigation with independent scientific writing, allowing me to gain experience in both the technical and intellectual dimensions of biomedical research.
During my internship at The Space Denver, I focused on the financial and strategic development of the organization while supporting its mission to advance Bitcoin education and community engagement. My work included building budgets and treasury forecasts, modeling membership and sponsorship revenue, and managing financial data to guide decision-making. I also assisted with event and venue planning, sponsor relations, and the early planning for an Education Foundation.
During my internship at PM Insights, I set out to strengthen my skills in data analysis, business development, and marketing. My learning goals included gaining hands-on experience with data aggregation, improving my ability to use AI for research and automation, and developing client-facing materials that drive sales and brand recognition. Over the course of the summer, I built broker and family office lists, created outreach sequences, and supported the sales pipeline with actionable data for prospective clients.
During my time as a Business Development Intern at Nextway Technology, a company specializing in the creation of apps and websites, I was actively involved in supporting the company’s client outreach and growth strategies. My responsibilities included researching and compiling targeted hit lists of potential clients, scheduling appointments with leads, and participating in meetings with local businesses and individuals.
Muddy Creek Animal Care Center located in Rowley MA is a veterinary hospital with kennel, daycare and grooming facilities attached. Over the years my pets have been treated there for everything from annual appointments, to vaccines, and sick visits. The facility has exceptional doctors, technicians, and kennel/daycare staff. This summer I was lucky enough to spend time shadowing and working in the hospital area of Muddy Creek.
I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to be a summer intern at the International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHF) in Newport, RI. As a member of the women's tennis team at SLU and a longtime tennis fan, this was an amazing experience. The ITHF has a small and tight knit staff that all share a passion for tennis and the ITHF's mission to preserve and promote the history of tennis as well as celebrate the champions of the sport and inspire the growth of tennis across the world. I was one of two advancement interns and a third joined us during our Infosys Hall of Fame Open week.
This past summer, I was an intern with the USAID/Peru Transparent Public Investment team. Part of my duties included the elaboration of success stories of public infrastructure final users directly involved in the project. This was used to create the project memoire for the donor agency from an intersectional approach.
During this summer internship I studied cancerous fibroblasts to find differences in their cytoskeletons as opposed to healthy cells. To study the cells, we had two ways, either with glass or with hydrogels. Hydrogels resemble the better lung structure, so the results would be more accurate. I learned how to make hydrogels from scratch, transforming small pieces of pig lung into cell powder.
The Vermont Biomedical Research Network is a group of core facilities at the University of Vermont Medical School that provide genomic, microscopy, and proteomic support to researchers. I worked as a bioinformatics intern for the genomics component of the lab. While I did spend some time in the lab learning sequencing techniques and protocols, the majority of my responsibilities was data analysis and computation. Much of my time was spent developing code and documentation to allow others to apply our tools.
I was able to intern at the Embassy of El Salvador in Washington DC. Throughout my experience, I learned the working mechanics at an internal and external level in an Embassy. From meeting with organizations like the US Census Bureau and the Embassy of Mexico to participating in private discussions regarding urgent issues, the experience was quite rewarding, especially for my interest in politics and international relations. All in all, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that was facilitated by the Janet K. Langlois '71 Internship Fellowship and Michael W.
My internship was majority focused on preparation for the medical field as a whole therefore, I was enrolled in two science courses at Columbia Medical School (physics and chemistry) taking these classes at the Roy and Diana Vagelos Education Center. Additionally, there were daily seminars and experiences I had to attend which enriched me with more knowledge regarding affording medical school, the application processes for medical school, life in and during medical school, as well as life after medical school.
My position within the soil district was akin to an entry level inspector. The agency's goal is to conserve soil and water resources and prevent soil erosion in New Jersey. The majority of my work involved entering in Hydraulic and Hydrologic Data into a state-wide reporting system. By the end of my internship, I became proficient with reading and interpreting detailed construction plans for stormwater management systems.
This summer I interned as a college financial representative with Northwestern Mutual, working with a team of individuals focused on bringing financial independence to clients across the country through the use of a variety of insurance products, including but not limited to term and whole life insurance, investment portfolios, disability income strategies, and long term care plans. I was able to learn a great deal by working closely with my team and fulfilling the same responsibilities as any senior financial advisor would have.
Any biological explanation of cognition must come to grips with the fact that she who offers the explanation lies among the living systems that are her objects of study, and because of this her explanation must include herself and an account of the processes by which she is able to give such explanations. Such is the basis for the biological phenomenology of Francisco Varela.
As a summer intern with Bespoke Investment Group, Jack Saltus completed several projects relating to market research/analysis and investments. Most notably, he was tasked with picking potential long-term investments from a list of more than 400 companies in the S&P 1500 index that had lost at least 30 percent of their market cap values from their 52-week highs. He was also responsible for daily updates of Bespoke research, as well as providing assistance to analysts on projects and posts sent out to subscribers.
