Class of 2029

Tusiime Louise Mugisha is a member of the Class of 2029 at St. Lawrence University. Originally from Kampala Uganda, she has always had high hopes in being one of the innovators of change in the Health sector of her country. With these aspirations, she completed her high school education at the United World Colleges, UWC Dilijan where she pursued an International Baccalaureate Diploma. Having achieved this, she is now pursing a degree in Neuroscience at St Lawrence University which also being involved in organizations like the African Student Union as well as the Student Council.

George Persinger is a Class of 2029 Economics major at St. Lawrence University, originally from Darien, CT. He is actively involved within the SLU community as a member of the varsity lacrosse team, balancing a full academic course load with a year-round Division III athletic schedule that has sharpened his time management, discipline, and ability to work toward shared goals within a high-performance team culture.

Xavino Pacule ‘29, from Massinga, Mozambique, graduated from the United World College of Southern Africa - Eswatini in 2025. Xavino is pursuing a double major in Computer Science and Economics, with aspirations in Software Engineering and Quantitative Trading. He participated as a talent in Unleash Rwanda, where he designed solutions to address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and interned in the area of technology at Baphumelele Home Shelter, South Africa. Such experiences have driven his eagerness to pursue a STEM-related major. After joining St.

I am a Biomedical Sciences major at St. Lawrence University on the pre-med track. I am passionate about healthcare and medicine, and my academic goals are focused on preparing for medical school and building a strong foundation in the sciences. I am actively involved in campus life and am a member of the African Student Union (ASU), Black Student Union (BSU), and Common Ground Connections. These organisations have allowed me to engage with my community, build meaningful connections, and participate in activities outside of the classroom.

Liyandza Magongo, class of 2029, is majoring in Statistics and Economics with a strong interest in risk assessment, financial analysis, and the insurance industry. Liyandza is passionate about using statistics, data, and economic principles to understand uncertainty and support informed decision-making across areas such as financial, property, and casualty risk. Liyandza has developed an appreciation for how data-driven analysis and effective project execution can work together to solve complex business challenges.

Hello, my name is pronounced Kh-a-dee-ja, and I am an intended double major in Political Science and Psychology with a minor in Digital Media & Film. I'm a very observant, sharp-witted, and determined young Afro-American student who hopes to make the best of her college experience. 

Troy Jorgensen is a sophomore at St. Lawrence University, planning on majoring in Biology and participating in the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Early Acceptance Program. 

Julia Hammonds, Class of 2029 is a Political Science and Sociology double major with a minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies at St. Lawrence University. She finds purpose on campus through clubs and organizations that focus on connecting with and empowering her peers, such as The First-Generation Initiative, Planned Parenthood Generational Action and The Advocates.

Blake Foster '29 is a Computer Science and Economics double major at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. He is drawn to technical systems and economic decision-making, with an interest in artificial intelligence and how it can be applied to real-world problems. As a hands-on learner, Blake enjoys taking complex systems apart to understand them. He values clear thinking and gravitates toward projects that reward curiosity and careful problem-solving.

My name is Maria Andryan, and I am a sophomore at St. Lawrence University pursuing a double major in Political Science and Statistics. My passion for politics and the legal field is complemented by my enthusiasm for academic research. Growing up in a conflict region, I was exposed firsthand to the complexities of mediation and international relations. Over time, I realized that my interest in international law and immigrant rights could be integrated into my studies.

My name is Gabby Alger, I am a sophomore at St. Lawrence University. I am majoring in psychology and hoping to minor in philosophy on the prelaw track. On campus, I work in admissions as an ambassador and I work as an orientation leader. I am the vice president of women's club soccer. I love playing and watching soccer, I play defense or goalie when no one else wants to. After graduation, I want to pursue a career as a lawyer.
