This summer, I served as the Videography Intern for the Martha's Vineyard Sharks, a NECBL (New England Collegiate Baseball League) team based on Martha's Vineyard made up largely of Division I talent, along with Division II and III players.
My role involved filming the majority of home games and producing short-form highlight reels for the team's Instagram and TikTok accounts, posting in real time to capture key moments like double plays, home runs, grand slams, and standout pitching performances. I also occasionally ran the team's livestream things like directing cameras and managing in game graphics like ads and the scoreboard. Along with that I handled fan engagement during games, including running kids activities and trivia.
Over the course of the internship, I grew both my personal Instagram account and the Shark's Instagram and TikTok accounts through consistent, engaging content. I made a point of creating opportunities for every member of the team to be filmed, including roles that often go overlooked, such as ball boys, which helped build a stronger sense of inclusion across the entire organization. Beyond the content itself, the internship opened new doors for me in the film industry and gave me lasting friendships and memories from the summer.
Looking ahead, I'm applying what I learned this summer to the St. Lawrence men's soccer team this semester and creating similar videos for them. Then this winter I plan to launch my own production company focused on action sports content like skiing, cliff jumping, and mountain biking.
