Krish Gupta

Krish Gupta is a Class of 2028 student from Kathmandu, Nepal. He is pursuing a major in Computer Science with a minor in Outdoor Leadership. He is an alumnus of United World Colleges (UWC) ISAK Japan. At St. Lawrence, he is the manager of the Munro Family Rock Climbing Wall, he is a Community Assistant for the Residence Life office, and a guide for the Outdoor Program. He is passionate about computer science, music, and outdoor recreation activities like rock climbing, archery, hiking, camping, and swimming. 

Sofie Schimmelpenninck

Sofie Schimmelpenninck '28 from Lewiston, NY, is a Conservation Biology major at St. Lawrence University with minors in Outdoor Leadership and Political Science. She also completed a six-week field semester with the University of Montana's Wild Rockies Field Institute, where she studied large-landscape conservation. Her academic and professional interests include environmental science and policy, sustainable food systems, agriculture, and outdoor education.

Nicolas Zamora

Nicolas is a Neuroscience major at St. Lawrence University (SLU), born and raised in Tarija, Bolivia. Before attending SLU, he completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program at UWC Dilijan in Armenia. On campus, he served as an International Affairs Senator for the student government and worked at Dana. While long drawn to behavioral neuroscience, his recent summer experience provided him with direct insight into how mental health and clinical care operate in his hometown.

 

 

Samuel Nyabuto

My name is Samuel Misiani Nyabuto, and I am currently a student at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. I was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, growing up in a lively home with my three brothers. While the city shaped much of my early life, my roots run deep in the Kisii community, tracing back to Gesima Ward in Nyamira County.

Ila Musclow

Ila Musclow is a member of the Class of 2028 at St. Lawrence University. She is pursuing a major in Estudios Hispánicos and Political Science with a focus on international relations. Ila is also a member of the swim team. Since Middle School, Ila has had a strong interest in law, geography, and international policy. Ila continues to learn geography and stays up to date on international politics, yet she has had minimal experience in the legal field.

Quinn Martin

Quinn Martin '28 is a student at St. Lawrence University studying biology. He is interested in genetics, molecular biology, and microbial interactions. He is a laboratory TA for multiple departments at St. Lawrence, where he communicates his passion for research through education and support. After graduation, he hopes to enter a research assistantship before then pursuing a PhD in research. 

Eva Kuliyeva

Eva Kuliyeva, Class of 2029, is majoring in Psychology and Music with a minor in Spanish at St. Lawrence University. Originally from the Bronx, New York, Eva is a musician and student interested in psychology, neuroscience, and the arts. At St. Lawrence, she works as a First-Year Program Intern, supporting student engagement and helping create meaningful experiences for incoming students. She is also a member of Laurentian Singers and participates in the university’s music community through vocal performance.

Elena Dickinson

Elena Dickinson ’28 is Biomedical Sciences major at St. Lawrence University. Local to the area, she is an Augsbury North Country Scholar who grew up on a retired Christmas tree farm in Harrisville, NY. This rural upbringing has inspired her creative writing endeavors, as her poetry has been published in Black River Review, on North Country Public Radio, and featured in three editions of The Laurentian Magazine where she has been elected as the Managing Editor.

Charlie White

Charlie White '28 is from Fort Worth, Texas. Majoring in Philosophy and Political Science, he is interested in the philosophical justification for prominent political theories and ideologies. Charlie conducted a research fellowship with Dr. Richard Lauer examining the critiques of John Rawls's liberalism, ultimately writing about the charges of moral relativism levied against a prominent critic, Alasdair MacIntyre. With this experience, Charlie hopes to pursue and SYE honors thesis for his philosophy major and later attend law school.

Riley Cushman

Riley Cushman, Class of 2028, is majoring in Environmental Science – Biology and minoring in Geology. His academic interests include fresh water and saltwater ecology and would like to do work related to those in the future. Over the summer he was able to pursue his interests thanks to the SLU Fellowship Program. He is a Cross Country and Track athlete as well as a member of the Outing Club. Outside of studying and running he loves to fish, ski, and hike.

McKenna Lee

McKenna Lee was originally a part of the Class of 2028, but will be graduating in December 2027. She is a economics and Spanish double major and a political science minor. She is interested in developmental economics, international relations and the European Union (EU). These interests led to her studying abroad in Spain for the 2026-2027 academic year and completing her Summer 2026 research project. On campus, she is president of Women in Economics, a member of the Chi Omega sorority, and a club representative in the Thelomathesian Society (student government).

Emma LaBelle

Emma LaBelle, Class of 2028, is a neuroscience and public health double major planning to apply to medical school in Summer 2027. 

She hopes to pursue rural medicine and serve communities like Chateaugay, NY, where she grew up. Her interest in public health stems from seeing how geographically isolated, underserved communities face barriers to care beyond physical health. Growing up in a rural community showed her that healthcare access is just as important as treating illness and inspired her commitment to helping rural communities overcome those barriers. 

Ashlyn Strobel

Ashlyn Strobel is a member of the SLU Class of 2028, dual majoring in Geology and Anthropology. She is from St. Johnsville, New York. She plans to attend graduate school in geology after graduation. On campus, Strobel is a member of the St. Lawrence University Women's Tennis Team. Outside of academics, she enjoys hiking and photography. 

Mariam Dodd

Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Mariam Dodd has been spinning stories before she could even speak. A passionate believer that the fairytales we were raised with shape the world around us, Mariam has dedicated her writing career to analyzing how folklore forms the backbone of the cultures around us, from the marble temples of Ancient Greece to the coal-stained aftermath of modern Appalachia. Academically, this passion has led her to double-majoring in Creative Writing and Political Science in St.

Jacob Guy

Jacob Guy, a member of the Class of 2028 from Weedsport, New York. Jacob is majoring in Biophysics and is a member of the 3+2 engineering program. In the future, Jacob plans to continue designing a prosthetic finger as well as a prosthetic hand and working with EMGs to make the hand move when he moves his arm. Jacob hopes to utilize the knowledge gained from the fellowship to help him become a Biomedical engineer and work to design prosthetics as a career

Lala Sefale

Matlala (Lala) Sefale ’28 is a Data Science student at St. Lawrence University with interests in applying quantitative methods to real-world challenges, particularly in ecological and environmental research. Her research examines decision-making in obligate army-ant-following birds, using statistical modeling to better understand how multiple species select foraging sites in the Peruvian Amazon. Through this work, she has developed skills in data analysis, model selection, and scientific communication while collaborating across the fields of ecology and statistics.

Koral Tarbell-Mitchell

Hello, I am Koral Tarbell-Mitchell, Class of 2028! I intend to pursue a degree in psychology with a focus on mental health advocacy for indigenous communities and impoverished communities alike. 

Growing up on an Indigenous reservation with limited green space and a lack of mental health care, I was given a unique opportunity to understand how limited resources impact the well-being of a whole community.

Molly Rodewald

Molly Rodewald '28 is an Environmental Studies and Biology combined major at St. Lawrence. 

From a young age she has been surrounded by the natural beauty of the Northeast, which sparked a passion to foster a world in which all humans interact with their environment in a reciprocal and regenerative manner. This passion for sustainability and conservation has transferred over to her time spent at SLU, where she is involved in Environmental Action Organization, the Greenhouse, the Peace Corps Prep Program, and the Admissions office.

Azaa Regmi ’28, from Kathmandu, Nepal, graduated from Rato Bangala School in 2024. She is pursuing a double major in Statistics and Finance, with aspirations for a career in investments. At St. Lawrence, Azaa brings her outgoing personality and leadership skills to campus life as a member of the Varsity Squash Team, a chair in the Thelomathesian Society (student government), an Admissions Ambassador, an executive member of Literacy for Nepal, Vice President of the ASIA Club, and a Thrive mentor for the first-year class.

Benjamin Rathke

My name is Benjamin, and I am in international student from Germany. However, my family moved around a lot, and I have also lived in Malawi and Tanzania. Growing up in between worlds certainly brought its challenges but I also really enjoyed the international setting and wanted to experience yet another part of the world, so I decided to come to the USA for university. My goals at St. Lawrence are to grow myself as a person - in all dimensions.

Marti Peidro Riverola

Martí '28 is pursuing a major in Economics and Business with a minor in Chinese Studies at St. Lawrence University. He is from Barcelona, Spain, and also spent two years in Hong Kong completing the International Baccalaureate diploma at United World College. Living in such diverse parts of the world has given him a global perspective and strengthened his adaptability and cross-cultural understanding.

I’m Manti Mokone, a sophomore at St. Lawrence University with a strong passion for technology, software engineering, and offensive security. I was born in Lesotho, and my journey has taken me from studying the International Baccalaureate in Tanzania to continuing my education in the United States. Along the way, I’ve developed a strong foundation in backend development with Python and JavaScript, building projects with FastAPI, Django, Next.js, and PostgreSQL.

Ryan McCausland

My name is Ryan McCausland, and I am in the graduating class of 2028 at St. Lawrence University and am a member of the baseball team. I am from Wellesley, Massachusetts, and graduated from Wellesley High School in 2024 where I was in the National Honors Society. I plan on majoring in Economics, and hope to work in sports in the future.
