Hello! My name is Jabari Sewell and I am a Political Science and English double major at St. Lawrence University. I love reading, writing and reciting poetry of all kinds, however, my specialty is spoken word. While I believe poetry possesses no inherent meaning, I believe it has the power to inspire, motivate, and redefine conscious thought by analogizing the mundane and overlooked elements of our daily lives. On campus, I am the President of Men In Color and involved with other organizations such as the Laurentians for Equity, Equality and Diversity, Club Soccer, the Black Student Union, Club Tennis and many others. I am also a member of the Academic Honor Council and I serve as the Student Delegate to the Alumni Executive Council. After I graduate, I hope to pursue a degree in law and use my voice in order to increase accessibility of legal services for impoverished communities in need.
