Rachel Jorgensen is a Junior at Saint Lawrence University majoring in Biology and minoring in Public Health, and was the inaugural student in the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) Early Assurance Program (EAP) at Saint Lawrence University. She has been interested in medicine since before the start of her academic career and plans to continue pursuing her passion into medical school and residency. Her experience as a Nerve Conduction Velocity intern has opened many doors, including shadowing physicians of varying fields and conducting research analyzing creatine kinase to be published in the Muscle and Nerve journal.
Throughout the year, she fundraises for the local student-run non-profit: Adirondack Solar Alliance (ASA), which allows her to visit various underprivileged sites in Puerto Rico to provide reliable solar energy where her work will hold permanent value.
