Elijah White

Elijah White, class of 2026 at St. Lawrence University. He was motivated to begin this project by Professor Regosin in the History department, whom he have worked with extensively. He is also a History and Performance Arts double major, both of which have helped him pursue this fellowship. Since his junior year in high school, over four years ago, Elijah has been interested in the Port Royal Experiment. Over the course of eight weeks, he created a digital narrative on the Port Royal Experiment and the Freedmen's Bureau in South Carolina. He also wrote a script for a future second episode, highlighting the newly freed African Americans and their pursuit of property.
