Elijah White

Elijah White, class of 2026 at St. Lawrence University. He was motivated to begin this project by Professor Regosin in the History department, whom he have worked with extensively. He is also a History and Performance Arts double major, both of which have helped him pursue this fellowship. Since his junior year in high school, over four years ago, Elijah has been interested in the Port Royal Experiment. Over the course of eight weeks, he created a digital narrative on the Port Royal Experiment and the Freedmen's Bureau in South Carolina.

Zach Jaworski

Zach Jaworski '24 is a Government major with minors in German Studies and Performance and Communication Arts. Zach interned with North Country Public Radio, where he produced democracy-related audio features, voter and election trends data reports and the impacts of local government policies. Zach is graduating in December 2024, and in his final semester he is looking to use the skills he learned at NCPR in his capacity as Editor-in-Chief of The Hill News, St. Lawrence's student newspaper. He will also continue to cover democracy for NCPR through the 2024 general elections.

Julia Sirois

Julia is a student in the class of 2023 at SLU and is completing her studies as a Conservation Biology major and German Studies minor. She enjoys participating in the training and application of wildlife detector dogs as survey technique in the field. Her interest in working with dogs melded well with her interest in Herpetology and led to the generation of a pilot research project using a detector dog to locate threatened species of turtles.
