Cooper Olney ’27 is a Data Science major with a strong interest in combining data science and sports. His project connects to his coursework by exploring in-game win probability in NCAA men’s basketball through the development of predictive models and interactive visualizations. Cooper is interested in applying statistical and machine learning methods to better understand sports performance, strategy, and decision-making. He enjoys working on projects that combine data analysis, modeling, and communication to answer real-world questions. Following graduation, he hopes to continue developing these skills through graduate school or professional opportunities. His long-term goal is to build a career that combines data science and sports.
