Nathan Inecia ’26 is a Global Studies major from Curaçao interested in representations of former colonial powers in heritage institutions and museums. Having grown up around sites of Dutch colonial influence, analysis of these sites for his project came as a necessity. His project took him to relevant sites in Ghana and The Netherlands, culminating in his final site visit to his home country Curaçao. The data collected at each site stand as the backbone for his senior year thesis. Inspired by conversations with officials and staff at sites in Ghana and the Netherlands, Nathan hopes to pursue a master’s degree in museum and heritage studies where he can learn to tap in the potentials of community engagement at heritage institutions and museums.
