Maryam (Sofia) Zareizadeh is originally from Fasa, Iran, and completed her International Baccalaureate at Li Po Chun United World College in Hong Kong. She is a member of the Class of 2026 at St. Lawrence University, where she is pursuing a double major in Biomedical Sciences and Performance & Communication Arts with a minor in Gender Studies. A Davis United World College Scholar, she serves as President of the Thelomathesian Society student government, Assistant Director of SLU EMS, and Community Assistant in Residence Life. Her research on hormonal interactions in Xenopus laevis metamorphosis was presented at the Society for Integrative & Comparative Biology (SICB) 2024 Conference. Sofia intends to pursue a career in medicine with a focus on research in female reproductive health, health equity, and advocacy.
