Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Mariam Dodd has been spinning stories before she could even speak. A passionate believer that the fairytales we were raised with shape the world around us, Mariam has dedicated her writing career to analyzing how folklore forms the backbone of the cultures around us, from the marble temples of Ancient Greece to the coal-stained aftermath of modern Appalachia. Academically, this passion has led her to double-majoring in Creative Writing and Political Science in St. Lawrence University's Class of 2028, where she hopes to further explore how stories can be used to highlight and change the inner workings of world governments. As of 2026 Mariam's novels Where the Monsters Grew and Requiem for the Living have officially entered into international distribution across Europe and North America. When not hiding away somewhere with her computer and massive stack of books, Mariam can be found sipping tea in the Artist Guild or searching for the closest squash court.
