I am Ariane Uwamukuza ’28, a Biomedical Sciences and Public Health student at St. Lawrence University. Originally from Rwanda and raised in Malawi, I have a strong interest in healthcare and how access to healthcare affects communities. My internship at Gateway Clinic gave me hands-on experience in HIV and TB care, maternal and child health, laboratory testing, nutrition, and family planning. This experience helped me better understand community-based healthcare and strengthened my interest in public health. I hope to continue exploring public health through research and further clinical experiences. In the future, I hope to pursue a career that combines my interests in biomedical sciences and public health to improve healthcare outcomes in different communities.
