As a Game Day Operations Intern for the Bourne Braves this summer, I significantly improved my teamwork and multitasking skills. Alongside my 11 coworkers, I was responsible for a wide range of tasks around the ballpark, including selling and managing merchandise inventory, preparing food for the thousands of fans who attended each game, and ensuring the field was thoroughly cleaned afterward.
Interacting with customers and assisting fans with their needs or concerns also helped me grow into a more confident and mature individual, while strengthening my problem-solving abilities.
I was initially drawn to this internship because of my strong interest in sports, and the opportunity to work at live sporting events every day seemed exciting. That expectation was absolutely met—but the experience turned out to be much more than just fun. It pushed me to grow in both personal and professional ways.
This valuable opportunity reaffirmed my desire to pursue a career in the sports industry, and I plan to continue seeking out internships and job opportunities in sports in the years ahead.
