This summer I had the privilege of interning with Prototype Content with Jason Hafford in London, UK. Through this internship, I was able to meet with a large variety of industry professionals across film, television, sports, and consulting which allowed me to build a network of strong relationships within the entertainment industry. I gained firsthand experience meeting with different production companies, networks, studios, buyers, and brands- learning more about the business side of the media landscape.
My main project this summer involved working alongside The Shift, an organization dedicated to empowering women around the world to launch and grow their own businesses. The Shift originated from Shiffon Jewelry & Co., a jewelry company whose signature pinky rings fund female entrepreneurs and have been worn by individuals including Michelle Obama, Nicole Kidman, and Hailey Bieber. Expanding on this mission, The Shift also publishes a biannual print and digital magazine that highlights women pioneering change and innovation, including Melinda Gates, Billie Eilish, Malala Yousafzai, and Selena Gomez.
In July, the Shift hosted the Shift Chateau at Wimbledon, a series of events and talks centered around women reshaping business and culture through entrepreneurship, leadership, and impact. During the Sports Shiftmaker Awards, the Shift honored three incredible trailblazing women, nine-time Wimbledon champion Martina Navratilova, Olympic swimmer and Syrian refugee Yusra Mardini and F1 driver Suzie Wolff. Witnessing these women being celebrated for their resilience and accomplishments reinforced my belief that meaningful impact comes from individuals that are willing to challenge expectations, redefine what is possible, and create opportunities for those to follow.
