Martha MacCallum Gregory '86 and Daniel Gregory P'23 Endowed Internship Fund

This summer, I had the privilege of completing a clinical internship under the mentorship of Dr. Margarita Vendrell, a Mayo Clinic alum. The experience offered me a deep and multifaceted introduction to family medicine, combining clinical exposure, patient interaction, and professional mentorship. Over the course of the internship, my responsibilities included shadowing patient consultations, observing outpatient procedures, attending case discussions, and assisting with administrative tasks that gave me a behind-the-scenes understanding of how a medical practice operates.

From June to August of 2025, I had the pleasure of interning with the Falmouth Commodores Baseball Team of the Cape Cod Baseball League. The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) is one of the oldest and most prestigious summer baseball leagues for collegiate talent in the country. It invites hundreds of the top players to have them play against one another for 10 different teams, and show out for MLB scouts present at every game. 

I was an Administration & Event Management intern for one of the teams: the Falmouth Commodores. In this role, I had several duties:

During my internship at iHeartMedia, I worked with the Product Data Analytics team to develop data-driven solutions that support product decision-making. My primary responsibility was designing and building the Mobile Cheat Sheetdashboard, a centralized tool for the Product team to monitor key mobile engagement metrics. This involved writing and optimizing data queries, creating derived properties in Amplitude, and selecting the most relevant variables to ensure clarity and usability.

Since my experience with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks has ended, I can reflect on what a special summer it truly was. I'm extremely thankful for the opportunities given to me by both St. Lawrence and the Hyannis Organization. Working in the Cape Cod Baseball League has always been a dream of mine, and it is still surreal to me that this is now a reality. When I first arrived at McKeon Park, I was anxious and excited to meet over sixty new people but also see some familiar faces.

AMCO is a construction and trading company based in Alexandria, Egypt. During this internship, Mahmoud has been contributing to the sales and marketing team by attracting new customers and audience of younger ages, and building stronger connections with their former ones. 

The internship started by a soft skills training to get ready for the workplace, which included sessions and workshops related to public speaking, negotiation, public relations, and communication skills. Afterwards, it dived deeper into applying these skills within the organization and beyond.

I was graced with the opportunity to participate in an internship with Weave News this past summer working under editorial staff to assist in daily tasks and larger projects that needed to be tended to. I spent a significant amount of time working to catalogue past published works from authors and contributors to the network, and continued to develop organizational structure in what we called "the archive" of published pieces- podcasts, articles, interviews, etc. with which I spent the majority of my time, but tended to other projects as needed. 

During my engineering internship at CBS News, I had the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of projects that enriched my understanding of both broadcasting and software engineering. One facet of my role involved diving into broadcasting engineering tasks, where I gained hands-on experience in repairing and troubleshooting hardware signal transmission equipment, ensuring seamless and reliable news broadcasts.

This summer I interned at Weave News where I worked as their outreach coordinator. My main responsibilities were leading the development of organizational partnerships; re-formatting and organizing content from the Weave News Archive; developing strategies for promoting published content; producing and sending out the Weave-Notes newsletter; and serving as the primary contact person for all external correspondence related to Weave News.
