During my internship at PM Insights, I set out to strengthen my skills in data analysis, business development, and marketing. My learning goals included gaining hands-on experience with data aggregation, improving my ability to use AI for research and automation, and developing client-facing materials that drive sales and brand recognition. Over the course of the summer, I built broker and family office lists, created outreach sequences, and supported the sales pipeline with actionable data for prospective clients. I also used AI tools to generate competitor matrices, SEO-optimized reports, and structured Excel files that improved efficiency and visibility for the company.
Beyond analytics, I developed marketing skills by designing promotional content in Canva, writing LinkedIn posts, and producing a one-pager and branded materials for conferences. I also learned how to navigate HubSpot for automated outreach and used scripts in Google Sheets to connect calendars and track client interactions. These projects gave me the chance to combine creative problem-solving with technical execution, while also collaborating with other interns to ensure data accuracy and consistency across the firm’s website and reports.
This opportunity was made possible through a financial award, which allowed me to live and work in New York City. The award gave me access to a professional environment that expanded my understanding of private markets and exposed me to the fast-paced, client-focused nature of financial services. The experience confirmed my interest in pursuing a career in finance, specifically in investment strategy, business development, and alternative investments.
Looking ahead, I plan to build on this experience by seeking roles where I can combine data-driven analysis with client engagement, whether at an investment firm, asset manager, or venture capital fund. The skills I gained at PM Insights, have provided me with a strong foundation for contributing meaningfully to firms operating in the private market ecosystem.
