Internship
Hi, I'm Alessandro Marangelli '24 and I use He/ They pronouns. I am an International student from Italy and a UWC alumn. I am double majoring in Anthropology and Environmental Studies, and minoring in Global Studies. I decided to study these fields because I am interested in the intersection of environmental, cultural, spiritual, physical, and social sustainability because I am a firm believer that there is no real sustainability without all of them and equality and equity.
Support
As an intern at Proyecto Fronterizo de Educación Ambiental, I worked alongside a phenomenal and inspiring team of Environmental activists. During the internship, I had the privilege to witness and assist on weekly ocean water sampling to check in the laboratory the presence and concentration of enterococci. I also had the chance to attend governmental meetings with the objective of creating projects for the protection of the National and transnational ecosystems as well as the health of the local population. Thanks to this experience, I am now certain of wanting to work in the field of Environmental and Cultural protection and thanks to the visit and conjunct work with other groups in San Diego, I also have a better understanding of how transnational cooperation between organizations work.
