This summer I did an internship with Dr. Lisa Francey Towle '92. The reason I decided to do this internship was to be able to explore my interest in health and wellness as well as be able to expand my knowledge on web programming.
I worked on a variety of tasks for Dr. Francey this summer. A large task was working on the website to add not only updated paperwork but also adding an online store for patients to use. For the online store I communicated with other companies to be able to become an affiliate to sell products. By working with the website overall, I was able to expand my knowledge on HTML which has helped me better understand my web programming coarse. Additionally, I helped with designing posters for the office. On top of these assignments I was also helping with office tasks such as paperwork, filing, phone calls, payments, and greeting patients.
Throughout this internship I developed many skills. One of the largest take aways from working in the office was being able to read some parts of HTML. Another skill I obtained was better telephone communication skills. Through working closely with Dr. Francey I also was able to learn many new things about health and wellness that I have been able to add to my daily life.
