Description

During my fellowship, I developed a cross-platform physical therapy app to provide accessible, customizable solutions for athletes and individuals managing chronic injuries. I focused on learning Flutter and Dart to build the app, starting with a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that included hard-coded routines, a simple user interface, and data handling capabilities.

I later integrated a PostgreSQL database to store information about routines, including names, exercises, and repetitions. I also explored Docker for containerization and worked on features such as CRUD operations, search bars, list reordering, and offline functionality to improve the app's usefulness. I also leveraged AI tools to assist in coding, debugging, and problem-solving, tracking their effectiveness and reflecting on their potential for both coders and non-coders in the workplace.

Throughout the project, I gained experience with database connectivity, UI/UX design principles, and asynchronous programming. Regular testing and feedback helped refine the app, and I presented progress updates to peers and mentors, incorporating suggestions along the way. This experience honed my development skills and provided insights into AI’s role in enhancing productivity and learning in app development.
