My name is Marvin Sibanda and I am from Chinotimba Township, in Zimbabwe. I am a Christian and religion has played a very big role not only in my life but also in my family’s life. I’m the oldest in my family, I have one sister and both my parents are still alive.
I am fluent in seven languages ndebele, english, shona, zulu, nyanja, nambya and tswana.I came to the US in 2016 and attended prep school at the Taft School in Connecticut. I play soccer, and I represented Zimbabwe Under 20 National team in 2018. I’m attending St. Lawrence and my intended major is International Studies.
My personal goal is to get a college degree. Towards the end of the soccer season this year, I tore my meniscus and it has been a tough but eye-opening experience.
