Semester:
Summer 2026
Description

This summer, I had the opportunity to participate in two part time internships concurrently. One with the World Affairs Council of Connecticut and the other with Blake Gendebien for Congress.

The World Affairs Council of Connecticut (CTWAC) is a non-profit organization based in Hartford, CT that promotes local dialogue on global issues. The Council hosts programs and events related to global affairs for the greater Hartford community, as well as organizing Model UN for CT high schools. This summer, I worked as a programs assistant, where my primary responsibilities included creating Model UN materials for students, researching relevant programming in the global affairs space, and supporting live and virtual events. Throughout my time at the Council I learned how a successful non-profit organization operates, and came to appreciate the importance of local programming through interaction with members.

I also worked as a Campaign Finance Intern with Blake Gendebien for Congress. Blake Gendebien is a congressional candidate in NY-21 with headquarters in Canton, NY. This was a position that I began during the spring semester, and was fortunate to have the chance to continue supporting remotely over the summer. My primary responsibilities were supporting fundraising efforts through donor research, preparing event materials, corresponding with constituents, and engaging in call time. In June, Gendebien won the Democratic Primary, and we raised over $800,000 across Q2. I look forward to continue my work on the campaign when I get back to the North Country this fall.

Both internships were incredibly valuable learning experiences, and I am grateful for the opportunity to gain perspective and insight in different areas as I make strides toward my post graduate career.
