During my internship with Teach For Armenia, my primary responsibility was conducting research on Generation Z students in Armenia. This project had two components: first, analyzing career aspirations and attitudes toward social impact to help the organization refine its recruitment strategies; and second, a broader study of Gen Z’s goals and opportunities beyond recruitment, which is still ongoing and has led to an extension of my work with the team. I also contributed to the Leadership Development Master’s Program, where we discussed international best practices in educational leadership and suggested possible adaptations for Armenia’s unique context. Finally, I taught English to children in a rural border village. This was one of the most meaningful parts of my internship, as it gave me direct experience with the challenges of rural education and allowed me to contribute to students’ learning. Meeting the children in person for the first time, after starting online, was especially memorable, particularly since it coincided with a television segment about our work.
Through these experiences-research, program development, candidate evaluation, and teaching—I strengthened my skills while contributing to Teach For Armenia’s mission. This internship not only deepened my understanding of Armenia’s educational challenges but also reinforced my commitment to making education more accessible and equitable.
