Description
As the student manager of St. Lawrence's permaculture garden, I was responsible for daily maintenance of the garden (weeding, mulching, planting), managing weekly volunteers, creating interactive farmers' market displays, and planning, advertising, and running community events at the garden.
I had the opportunity to pursue my own projects, such as growing vegetables for the Campus Kitchens Project--a student-led group that provides free meals to local food-insecure individuals--and researching, planning, and preparing a space for a medicinal herb garden, which would provide the midwives at Akwesasne's Onkwehonwe Midwives Collective with medicinal plants to use in their practices.
