During my internship at Massachusetts General Hospital, working alongside a research team at MIT, I had the opportunity to contribute to work I'm passionate about, particularly in neuroimaging and brain lesion research. This experience not only provided valuable insight into how translational medical research functions, from anatomy fundamentals to segmentation methodology and 3D reconstruction, but also helped me develop a deeper understanding of the precision and rigor required in clinical research. I contributed to projects aimed at building reliable 3D reconstructions of brain lesions from MRI scans, enhancing my skills in image segmentation, data calibration, and statistical validation. Additionally, working closely with my advisor and other researchers in the lab gave me the chance to build a professional network in the medical imaging and research communities. This internship reinforced my interest in medicine and significantly advanced my academic path, motivating me to pursue further research opportunities and deepen my commitment to a career as a physician grounded in research.
