Summer 2023
Description

In my internship, I assisted the zoo’s education staff with outreach programs, as well as designed my own educational program to present to zoo members towards the end of my internship. Daily tasks included gathering and packing animals for outreach, handling said animals in front of a crowd, as well as teaching crowds about the animals we brought. I would also help out around the zoo on less busy days, working with certain animals that were more problematic so they could one day be brought on programs. This internship greatly built on my public speaking skills, overall base knowledge of the animals I worked with, and ability to work with both animals and kids.
