Hello!
My name is Liyou Asnakew Sisay, I was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I am part of the graduating class of 2026. I am bilingual. I speak Amharic, which is my mother tongue, and English.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, it has always been a passion of mine. I especially enjoy reading classic literature. I also love watching movies and listening to music and I am currently learning to play the violin too! Apart from that, I am absolutely fascinated by the human brain and want to be a medical doctor, which is why I am planning on majoring in Biomedical Sciences and possibly minoring in Chemistry. For the last two years, I attended the United World College (UWC) of the Atlantic in Wales, UK, and completed the International Baccalaureate (IB). Being at St. Lawrence University has been super exciting so far and I am looking forward to my study here.
I am an Ethiopian Orthodox Christian, and my faith is central to who I am as a person. It is where I get my values from. I love to laugh and smile and am always ready to hear a joke! My favorite food is Firfir (a traditional Ethiopian dish - pictured below ;)) ), which I absolutely love. I could have it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and for anything in between!! My family is the most important thing to me in this world and I am incredibly close to them. I will forever be grateful to them as I would not be where I am today if not for them.

ስሜ ልዩ አስናቀው ሲሳይ ይባላል፣ ተወልጄ ያደኩት አዲስ አበባ፣ ኢትዮጵያ ነው። የሴንት ሎውረንስ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፳፻፳፮ ተመራቂ ክፍል ነኝ። ሁለት ቋንቋ ተናጋሪ ነኝ። በመጀመርያ አማርኛ እናገራለው፣ የናት ቋንቋዬ ነው፣ በተጨማሪም እንግሊዘኛ እናገራለው።
በትርፍ ጊዜዬ መጽሀፍ ማንበብ እወዳለው። በተለይ የድሮ ልብ ወለዶችን ማንበብ እወዳለው። ፊልም ማየትና ሙዚቃ ማዳመጥም ደስ ይለኛል፣ በአሁን ጊዘም ቫዮሊን መጫወት እየተማርኩኝ ነው። ከዚህ ውጪ ፣ ስለአእምሮ መማር በጣም እወዳለው እናም የህክምና ዶክተር መሆን እፈልጋለሁኝ። ለዚህም ነው በባዮሜዲካል ሳይንስ ሜጀር ለማድረግና በከሚስትሪ ማይነር ለማድረግ የማስበው። ላለፉት ሁለት አመታት በወልስ፣ እንግሊዝ ውስጥ በሚገኘው ዩናይትድ ወርልድ ኮሌጅ ኦፍ ዘ አትላንቲክ ተማሪ ሆኜ የኢንተርናሽናል ባካሎሬት ትምህርቴን አጠናቅቂያለው። በሴንት ሎውረንስ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ቆይታዬ እስካሁን እጅግ በጣም አስደሳች ነበር እናም ከዚህ በኋላ ለሚኖረኝ የጥናት ቆየታዬ ጓጉቻለሁ።
እኔ የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ክርስቲያን ነኝ፣ እምነቴ የማንነቴ ዋና ክፊል ነው። እሴቶቼን የማገኝበት ነው። መሳቅ እና ፈገግ ማለት እወዳለሁ፣ ቀልድ ለመስማትም ሁልጊዜም ዝግጁ ነኝ። በጣም የምወደው ምግብ ፍርፍር ነው ፤ ለቁርስ፣ ለምሳ፣ ለእራት፣ እና በመካከላቸው ላለ ማንኛውም ገበታ ልመገበው እችላለሁ። ቤተሰቤ በዚህ ዓለም ውስጥ ለእኔ በጣም አስፈላጊው ነገር ነው እና ከነሱ ጋር በጣም ቅርብ ነን። ለነሱ ካልሆነ ዛሬ ባለሁበት ስለማልገኝ ለዘለዓለም አመሰግናቸዋለሁ።
