Hello, my name is Paige Bertram ’27. I am a student at St. Lawrence University, double majoring in Psychology and English with a minor in Public Health. I have a strong passion for helping those who feel lost or hopeless by providing both emotional support and practical assistance. Initially, I structured my education around the goal of becoming a forensic psychologist, with the intention of working with individuals in the criminal justice system whose severe mental illness prevents them from fully understanding their actions or circumstances and getting them the help they need, instead of incarcerating them.

This passion led me to pursue and secure an internship with the St. Lawrence County Public Defender’s Office. However, that experience, along with personal life experiences, shifted my focus toward social work. I now plan to pursue a graduate degree in social work, with the hope of interning at a hospital to gain experience in the field of medical social work and ultimately become a medical social worker.
