CIIS Virtual Internship Program

Insights-Exchange

By

In the Summer of 2021, I had the incredible opportunity to intern for a company that resides in Sydney, Australia in a remote marketing position. At this company, Insights Exchange, I spent time doing market research and working closely with CEO Nichola Quail. We had frequent meetings and spent a vast portion of time going over my tasks and evaluating my accomplishments. Ms. Quail provided me with detailed feedback and allowed each of my tasks to build upon the one prior.

Scandinavia & The Mediterranean: A Comparison of Cuisine

By

In the Spring of 2017, while studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, I was given the opportunity to embark on a culinary tour of Italy. My Enrichment Grant made it possible for me to see both Rome and Florence, Italy, while experiencing incredible Mediterranean cuisine every step of the way. I originally applied for such a grant because Italy is a cultural and culinary epicenter, and I didn’t feel my time abroad would be complete without experiencing it!

Broadway in New York City

By

As somewhat of a stereotypical “theater kid” (though one with very little actual talent), I knew I wanted to see as many Broadway shows as I possibly could while in New York City. In fact, Broadway was one of the main reasons why I chose NYC as my “abroad” destination. Throughout the Fall semester, I got to experience 19 Broadway shows (everything from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to Hamilton).

Creating Peace Through Paper in Hamburg, Germany

By

I received an amazing opportunity to travel to Hamburg, Germany for five days in May of 2018. I traveled to Hamburg to work with The Peace Paper Project, learn about art therapy, and explore the city. The Peace Paper Project uses the art of making paper as a vehicle for personal expression and cultural change; it is used as a method for coping with trauma or a form of activism. My interest in this organization started my freshman year when Drew Matott, the director of the Peace Paper Project, came to St. Lawrence and conducted a workshop.
