Summer 2026 - SLU PIC

SLU PIC Summer Intern

By

This summer, I had the opportunity to serve as the Campus Kitchens Project (CKP) intern. The transition into the internship was both exciting and challenging. During the academic year, CKP thrives because of the dedication of 15 to 20 student members who share responsibilities, ideas, and accountability. Over the summer, much of that responsibility shifted to me.

I had the pleasure of working as the marketing/pantry outreach intern at the Church and Community Program from June to August 2026. Working alongside community members firsthand has taught me so much about compassion, persistence, and the value of a close-knit community. I will carry the experiences, skills, and relationships I nurtured during my time at CCP with me long after my time at SLU has ended.

SLU PIC Research/Training Intern

This summer I had the opportunity to intern at a domestic violence agency, Renewal House, located near St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. For the first two weeks I went under extensive training that informed me on domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, current Renewal House policies and programs, and advocate duties. From there I shadowed other advocates, taking note on how they take a trauma- informed approach for each client.

This summer I had the opportunity to work for North Country Public Radio. Based in Canton, NY, in St. Lawrence County, NCPR operates a network of 33 transmitters broadcasting to the entire Adirondack North Country, western Vermont and southeastern Ontario. It hosts a range of programs from NPR and many other public radio stations. They host community events, live shows, story sharing nights and more. It's truly a station for the community.
