Edward Habeck ’24 is a Biology and Anthropology double major at St. Lawrence University, interested in paleogenetics, microbiology, and bioarchaeology.

Edward has spent the summer of 2023 researching ancient DNA trapped in the dental calculus of ancient Mesopotamian remains as part of his project entitled “Human Oral Microbiome Observed in Bronze Age Skeletal Remains from Tell Leilan, Mesopotamia” under the supervision of Dr. Lorraine Olendzenski. In the summer of 2022, he had completed a bioarchaeology field school in Lobor, Croatia, through the Institute for Field Research partnered with the University of Zagreb. He has held the position of Treasurer for the St. Lawrence University Anthropology Club, and currently serves as Vice President for the 2023-2024 academic year. Edward has also held TA positions for multiple biology courses, including Microbial Ecology and Microbiology.
