Charlotte Powell ‘23 is a Psychology major and an Educational Studies and Performance and Communication Arts minor. Her passion for psychology, education and children led her to work as a teaching fellow at Breakthrough Collaborative in Manchester, New Hampshire during the summer of 2022. Breakthrough’s mission is to “work with highly motivated, traditionally underrepresented students to achieve post-secondary success and empower aspiring leaders to become the next generation of educators and advocates.” As a teaching fellow, Charlotte taught literature to 7th grade students, advised, and supported students of diverse needs, levels, and backgrounds. In addition, she introduced students in grades 7-9 to the game of lacrosse and worked on the Celebration Committee, organizing events for students, parents, and colleagues. From this experience, Charlotte hopes to continue to work with children by combining her interests in mental health and educational equity.
