Description

During her internship at the St. Lawrence County Center for History and Culture, located at the historic Silas Wright House, Alexandra contributed to both community engagement and historical preservation projects. The museum, housed in the former residence of Silas Wright, the 14th Governor of New York, provided a unique backdrop for her work connecting local history with public education. She attended outreach events across the county to support public programming and helped advance the Historic Garden Project. Her primary focus was creating a new, more accurately scaled visual schematic of the property, improving upon the existing rendering. In addition, she assisted with the installation of interpretive signage in the garden and researched medicinal plants that would have been cultivated during the Wright family era, further linking historical practices with the site’s educational mission.

This internship was focused in Canton, NY with an organization focused on preserving and sharing the history of St. Lawrence County.
