Established in 2016, the History Department Vilas Internship Fellowship is designed to provide career development opportunities for History majors and minors, allowing them to develop and apply the skills they cultivate in their history coursework on campus in a workplace environment.

Intern | St. Lawrence County History and Culture

During her internship at the St. Lawrence County Center for History and Culture, located at the historic Silas Wright House, Alexandra contributed to both community engagement and historical preservation projects. The museum, housed in the former residence of Silas Wright, the 14th Governor of New York, provided a unique backdrop for her work connecting local history with public education. She attended outreach events across the county to support public programming and helped advance the Historic Garden Project.

In the summer of 2024, I spent 9 weeks interning in the Washington D.C. office of Congresswoman Elise Stefanik. I spent 4 of these weeks in the personal office, and 5 weeks in the GOP Conference Office. By spending time in both, I experienced both the constituent-facing and legislative side of the personal office and the party coordination and communications side of the leadership office.
