Class Year:

I am a senior at St. Lawrence University, double-majoring in Political Science and History with a minor in Spanish. During my time at SLU, I have had the opportunity to experience the unique aspects that make our community so special.

As Captain of the Squash Team, I have come to understand the important role that student-athletes play, not only as representatives of their sport, but also as ambassadors to the greater Canton community. Serving as a senator and chair of Thelmo has given me valuable insight into the concerns, priorities, and values of the student body, as well as a deeper appreciation for the small, tight-knit community that enhances both the social and academic lives of students.

Through the Center for Intercultural Studies, I studied abroad in New Zealand, where I experienced cultural and environmental diversity firsthand. While abroad, I also joined the squash team at the University of Otago, which allowed me to connect with students and athletes from a different part of the world.

These experiences have strengthened my leadership, communication, and cultural understanding. I am eager to continue developing these skills while working with communities to identify challenges, support their needs, and find creative ways to improve the quality of life. My goal is to use what I have learned at SLU to contribute to positive change, particularly in smaller communities seeking support from various levels of government.

I am excited by the prospect of engaging with communities, learning about the issues that affect them, and applying my creativity and research skills to help improve the political and social structures that shape our world.
