Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center

During Summer 2025, I was fortunate to have an amazing experience working at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center as an intern in OB/GYN. The DHMC Undergraduate Internship Program is a 10-week full time work experience that pairs career development curriculum with work experience in the healthcare industry. Throughout this internship opportunity I gained practical knowledge on how the OB/GYN department can both directly and indirectly influence the patient care experience.

This past summer I had the opportunity to work within a tight-knit team researching the impact of exercise prescriptions on inactive breast cancer patients. Our project is a component of a larger multipart study with the overarching goal of designing an effective exercise prescription program for individuals that have finished breast cancer treatment and need help beginning exercise post treatment.

This summer I had the opportunity to work as a research assistant studying urinary incontinence in active women under a pediatric urologist at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Urinary incontinence (UI) is estimated to affect about half of adult women but remains highly stigmatized and under-reported in clinical settings.
