This summer I worked as a software intern at Ronnie’s Cycle. Ronnie’s Cycle is a powersports sales company. I worked alongside a skilled team to develop user networks. A lot of my time was spent utilizing google analytics to assess which marketing websites were getting the most sales and the most views, since Ronnie’s Cycle markets across multiple websites, as there are multiple stores. It was then my job to develop the user pages and make them as accessible and minimalistic as possible.
Through this experience, I not only gained inside knowledge on website development but I also was exposed to the world of financial operations by getting to see different marketing strategies play out in real time through analytics. After the company introduced a new marketing campaign, I would monitor activity on its websites via Google analytics and would often observe fluctuations in tandem with the efforts of the marketing team. I was also tasked with attending meetings and workshops with Google software employees, where we would discuss slowly bringing AI into businesses to help with marketing strategies and navigating on the website for the best accessibility.
In terms of my career this internship helped me identify my strengths and explore possible future roles.
