Izzy Fontaine is a member of the class of 2024 at St. Lawrence University and is from Kennebunk, Maine. She grew up spending most time outdoors and developed an early appreciation for hiking, skiing, running, and exploring. Upon approval to study in New Zealand, Izzy was excited to explore the countless outdoor opportunities at hand. New Zealand is known for its impressive ecotourism and tourism industries, and combining this with an Environmental Economics major, she was interested in gaining first-hand experience hiking and skiing in New Zealand to compare the ecotourism management with that in the Adirondack Park. Izzy is excited to continue exploring environmental economics endeavors with a potential career in sustainable architecture or urban planning in the park realm!
