This summer, I interned at the Malagasy Institute of Applicated Research (IMRA) where my role was to assist and expand my laboratory skills with several ongoing projects that the Institute takes care of. During these 8 weeks, along with Professors, chemists, botanists, biologists, and all sorts of Malagasy scientists, I had the opportunity to acquire relevant skills that delve into the investigation of medicinal plants in Madagascar.

Education Intern - Riverside Reptiles Education Center

In my internship, I assisted the zoo’s education staff with outreach programs, as well as designed my own educational program to present to zoo members towards the end of my internship. Daily tasks included gathering and packing animals for outreach, handling said animals in front of a crowd, as well as teaching crowds about the animals we brought. I would also help out around the zoo on less busy days, working with certain animals that were more problematic so they could one day be brought on programs.
