During the summer of 2025, I completed a two-month internship at Dolma Advisors, Nepal’s first and largest international private equity and impact fund. As an Investment Intern, I joined at the most happening time for any private equity firm, as Dolma Impact Fund I was in its exit phase and Fund III was being prepared, leading me to be a part of many exciting things! I mainly worked across a broad range of portfolio companies and investment strategies. My responsibilities included preparing financial reports, conducting market research (with a focus on NASDAQ), and developing debt-equity financing reports. I also collaborated with the ESG team to evaluate project risks and ensure portfolio companies aligned with investor requirements while conversing with companies requesting our funds.
Through my Dolma internship, I attended conferences and built connections within Nepal’s private equity ecosystem, which led to an opportunity to contribute to the Nepal Stock Exchange during its structural reform process during my last month. At NEPSE, I worked with the Research Division to propose an action plan to strengthen the ownership model, governance framework, and technological infrastructure by benchmarking against global exchanges. I also rotated through the Listing, Over-the-Counter, and Surveillance departments, gaining hands-on exposure to the functioning of a centralized capital market platform.
Together, these internships offered a comprehensive understanding of both the buy-side investment process and the functioning of a centralized exchange, equipping me with practical skills and strategic insights into today's evolving financial ecosystem.
