A Poetry Collection
Metamorphose is a collection of poetry composed during the summer of 2026 that explores the liminal space between youth and adulthood, finding home in that dissonant middle place. Engaging with themes of identity, memory, displacement, and transformation, both in metaphor and ghoulish imagery. The collection considers transformation as both a personal and philosophical process. Poems explore mundane moments like moving into a new apartment and metaphysical changes to become sirens, monsters, creatures. Formally, poems range from free-verse to structured rhyme to prose poetry, varied poetic forms to demonstrate the instability of a transitional experience and act as my love letter to ongoing creativity in poetry. Across the collection, ordinary and speculative coexist, inviting the reader to live in the uncomfortable tension and euphoric moments of growing up. Metamorphose examines metamorphosis as a reoccurring condition, offering a reflection on the complexities of growth, and the cyclical reformation of the self.
