During the summer of 2025, I spent 13 weeks working as a Congressional Intern in the Office of Representative Joseph Morelle. Congressman Morelle represents the 25th district of NY, which is my home district. The greatest honor of the internship was the ability to represent my home district while in D.C., working to find solutions to local and national issues.
During the internship, I answered constituents' calls and emails, attended hearings and briefings, conducted capitol tours, prepared legislation for introduction, and any other delegated tasks. During the course of the internship I attended nine hearings/briefings and compiled 11 memos for senior staff. My proudest accomplishment was my end of internship project in which I was able to present my legislative proposal to the Chief of Staff for consideration.
The opportunity to take place in this internship led to professional growth as well as personal growth learning the city of Washington D.C. that I hope to call home postgrad. Following graduation I hope to either continue working in Congress or work within the defense sector.
